Why is My Hoshizaki Ice Machine Beeping Once?
A Hoshizaki single beep alarm occurs when the thermistor reaches 127 degrees Fahrenheit. This typically signifies that some issue is causing the commercial ice maker to overheat. When a Hoshizaki one-beep alarm sounds, the ice machine will shut off to prevent further damage to the unit.
While this will protect your ice machine from further damage, it will also halt your ice production. If the ice machine encounters another extended harvest cycle, the high volume ice machine shuts down and starts a 2-beep alarm.
Some causes of a Hoshizaki two-beep alarm include:
- Ice machine freeze ups due to:
- Dirty plates
- Warped/Bent/Damaged Plates
- Not enough water flow available to your ice machine
- Cold ambient air temperature
- Cold ambient water temperature

Why is My Hoshizaki Ice Machine Beeping Three Times?

The freeze cycle is the stage when an ice machine starts to flow water a cold evaporator plate. Over time, the water freezes and becomes ice. The length of the freeze cycle depends on air and water temperatures and how much water in your ice machine’s reservoir.
As the water flows and empties the reservoir, the ice maker’s float switch falls. The machine times this process. If the float switch reaches its low point by the time the timer has ended, it signals the end of the freeze cycle and starts the harvest cycle, where ice is collected.
An “elongated” freeze cycle is what happens when an issue slows this process down, keeping the ice machine in its freeze cycle for too long.
